Other than going to the Budweiser site to check out the Real Men of Genius ads, the best humor on the internet has to be at KillerFrogs. There are some there that have seriously convinced themselves that all the MWC needs to become BCS is them. Others swear that they won't have to play the bad teams in that conference very often and then come back and use those teams as a reason why they won't be playing at altitude. They talk about what a great TV contract they'll have with the MWC and how stable the conference is. As with any inbred family, they're real stable until those outsiders start coming around.

There are over-zealous fans on any team's message board. I remember a lot of talk on this board about going to a bowl game last year and about SMU getting an invitation to the Big 12. Most TCU fans are more level-headed than the few on that board who get a little ahead of themselves.

It was a very long time from 1935 until 2000.

Why is it comical that TCU fans are excited about their recent success and the fact that it's earned them a lot of publicity and respect? I can't wait for SMU to be in the same situation and I do believe we are very slowly headed in that direction.
The MWC is probably a lot more stable than either the WAC or CUSA. We all know the MWC could destroy the WAC by inviting Fresno, Boise and either Hawaii or Nevada to come along with TCU. Anyone in the eastern half of CUSA would jump on a Big East invite. Only the PAC 10 poses any threat to the current MWC (if they ever invited Utah and BYU as has been discussed in popular rumors). If that happens, the MWC quickly rplaces those 2 with programs almost as strong from the aforementioned list of MWC wannabes, so yes...I think the MWC is a pretty stable conference.
Let's just hope that with or without TCU; SMU and the rest of the CUSA schools continue to improve to the point where we can compete for top 25 recognition and make CUSA the strongest non-BCS football group. Right now that honor may rest with the MAC, despite what all these southern/western schools might want to believe.

This is the same motley group that walked out of the WAC with no notice and did not honor any agreements. If the Billy Goats tire of their new bride, (travel, sea level games, early games)they'll make life so unbearable for them that even the SunBelt Conference will look good. Remember if they only expand by one, the Airport 5 will still command a majority. If they expand by 4, look for TCU to be in a division with UNM, Fresno, UNLV, SDS, and whoever else they add. The Fab 5 will stay together in their own division.

Not so. We had 10 win seasons in 1981 (SWC Champs); 1982 (SWC Champs- 11 wins); 1983 and 1984 (SWC Co-Champs). We would have to go to 2020 without 10 wins to tie it.

Lil Lobo, SMU, and especially the school with the frog legs jumping equipment, tcu, would jump BIG TIME to be a member of the BIG SMELVE. I say smelve because the BCS, and the Big 12 SMELLS.
A true ncaa div 1a playoff with 12 or 16 teams would cure a lot the EVILS of college football today.
Teams might be wanting to join weaker conferences to get a frog's leg up on making the playoffs.
