Talked with them for close to half an hour. I had met Russell Carter a few times before, including when he was a guest on PonyFans LIVE, but this was my first chance to meet Doug Hollie. These two are fantastic guys who clearly love SMU. They looked like little kids walking around, looking at Doak Walker's Heisman Trophy, the coaches' offices, etc. They visited with several coaches, and seemed genuinely thrilled to be back at SMU. It was a true pleasure to visit with them.

I remember Carter snagging an interception that killed Texas one year. He was super!

very happy to hear about ex-players getting excited about the program. Hopefully they'll come to some games next year. It's great to have Morstead, McCann, and Sanders doing well in the NFL.

Carter would ride his bicycle around campus.. We would kid and ask him where his car was. He would reply, "this is all I got!" .....Russell was a great guy and a great player.
