I really wonder if that is correct. They had 8k several days ago.
Surely we can fill this allotment by next week??

Of the 32000+ tickets, 10k to Army, 10k to SMU and the other 12.5k were sold already...right. Of the 12.5k that were already sold, how many were sold to SMU season ticket holders?

the big questions is how many of the 12,500 will show up

Interesting, as Pony_Fan notes, that the 8k tickets figure hasn't changed since my buddy talked to the ticket people last week.
Hopefully we can sell the last 2k.
Unrelated, the AFB game tickets look pretty sharp. Much nicer looking than the Hawaii Bowl ticket from last year. More of a "keepsake" appearance this year.

Haven't gotten my tickets yet. Hopefully I'll get them in the next day or two.

I wonder how many STH already bought their tickets before SMU was announced as one of the teams? With bowl committees making note of ticket sales to each school, it's ridiculous that we haven't sold out our own allotment at our own stadium yet.

If the weather's nice, it'll be a nearly full house. Not so nice, not so full.

The nice thing, given the size of Ford, is that a crowd of 28,000 will look great on TV. Some bowls have, so far, appeared thin in the crowd. Ford will give the illusion of a better crowd.

The question is (and has been asked over and over on this board) why isn't SMU doing more to market this game locally. Yard signs. Plane flyovers, Lighting up the side of the apts by Norhtpark (ala TCU game). With the number of people packing it into the mall this week, the visibility would be huge. If we can pull this off for the Marshall game, you would think a bowl game would be a no-brainer.

yep, the Northpark mall holiday crush is yet another golden grassroots opportunity. SMU again could make thousands of impressions with little cost or effort

Last year the AFB had billboards, none this year. No print ads, no radio ads, nothing on tv, zippo. We were told by playing at home in the AFB, SMU would receive great coverage and publicity, how many stories have you seen on the local tv stations or in the DMN and FWST? In fact the DMN hasn't had a writer at practice in numerous days now. Most of the DFW metroplex, is oblivious to this game.

sadly, that's a somewhat encouraging thought
