I wonder if we still want him far away from our recruiting grounds to limit his ability to harm us. It's been 3+ years, and after two consecutive bowl games I have to figure anything tarnishing he has to say is pretty easy to swat away at this point. It's not 2008 anymore...

Like most of our coaches during the past 25 years, PB was not always given the most conducive enviromnent for winning. Nevertheless, I cannot get it out of my mind that with a bowl invite on the line we could not score on 8 tries from inside the one yard line against Rice.

It also irked me that his teams didnt seem to learn much about blocking and tackling, but were proficient at running the swinging gate on extra points. Seemed like an odd way to spend practice time. I wish him luck. Don't think he would be much of a problem for us if he comes back to this area.

Forever etched in my mind is him going for two against Tulsa when one extra point would have put the game out of reach for anything other than a TD. We didn't make it, Tulsa kicked a field goal and we had to win it in overtime. Even Tulsa's coach said PB's decision made no sense, but he was glad he did it. PB said he was "going by the book". Idiocy!

There is always the classic line that was said to the Mustang Club by PB; "I've forgotten more football than all of you will ever know!"

I had same thought when the Leach to MD thing heated up. It wouldn't surprise me.

Phil is still a good recruiter. He still knows a lot of Texas HS coaches. I still want him as far from here as possible.

He won't go to Texas. Mack can do better and will.

Wish Phil the best. Do not miss the PB coaching staff panic and confusion every time we got to the red zone. Came to expect failure.

You really think Leach would hire him after Phil took a swing at him 6 years ago? I dont know how many games they'd win, but the sidelines would definitely be entertaining to watch.
