Flyover Set For Thursday's Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
Paratroopers Also To Parachute Into Ford Stadium
Dec. 29, 2010
DALLAS (SMU) - Mustang fans coming to Thursday's Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl will want to be in their seats early and keep their eyes on the skies, as pregame activities leading up to the 11 a.m. kickoff at Ford Stadium will include a flyover of U.S. Air Force F-16s and paratroopers.
Local residents are also advised that helicopters will be landing at Ford Stadium early Thursday morning in preparation for the game.
SMU has sold out its allotment of 10,000 tickets for the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Allotment and only standing-room tickets remain. To meet the high demand, the SMU Ticket Office is selling standing room-only tickets for $10 each. The remaining tickets are now on sale and fans should act quickly. To place an order, call 214-SMU-GAME (768-4263).

And jetnfast said the flyovers qualify as required training also. So they are going to be flying, might as well scare the poop out of the geldings.

That is correct, they are probably accomplishing some training on the front or backside of the sortie. My guess is the F-16's are supported out of Ft. Worth Reserve unit. Should be low, fast and loud! Enjoy!
