I don't remember seeing the big "mascots" (spirit and liberty?) today.
Were they there?

The Geldings are in California for the Rose Parade. They rented some equines and riders to lead the football team to the stadium.
I don't know anything about big horses.

If this is true, then it's even worse than having those geldings around here in the first place.

I don't recall seeing Peruna much either. Of course when you only score twice, not much of a chance to get on the field.

FYI:
1) The geldings are indeed gone for the Rose Parade.
2) Two new horses were indeed rented to lead the team in their little parade
3) Peruna was sporting camo (generic to represent all Armed Forces, not Army's digital camo...) with a number 17 for Don Meredith.
4) Peruna was FORBIDDEN FROM RUNNING across the field by the Armed Forces Bowl people. Such horse you-know-what. Its his own field for crying out loud.

Peruna was there! Had a camouflage blanket on till we got our [deleted] kicked and then they put the red white and blue one on.

To bad it didn't work as well as when they changed his blanket during the Hawaii Bowl...
At least the red white and blue one was also was for Don Meredith. The football program didn't so much as mention him.

I've been told with regard to College Football-Mascots on Field is actually an Insurance issue-they didn't want to pay for extra liability probably.

That's what waivers are for

And it's not like Peruna hasn't already run the length of that field before...many times. Sheesh. I'm sure the AFB folks didn't want to give the impression they were allowing SMU any home field-feel advantage like that anyway and hiding behind the conveniently spun "liability" excuse.
The imposter geldings were nowhere to be seen near the field, much less the stadium, during the game.

This really was NOT a home game. And didn't feel like one. The crowd was awesome though.
