Beasley's Drop + 1st Missed FG

Agree with everyone could not be more disappointed and today was ridiculous. Tulsa would beat Army by 30 plus points and we have to play at Tulsa next year. Agree no real improvement in 14 games by the offense. Heck BYU scored at will on UTEP and we could only get 14 pts. against them.

That said, if Beasley hangs on to a pass Padron actually threw right on the money the first half inside Army's 10 or our kicker makes a 35 yard FG in the first half we probably win. I think the Beasley drop critical as if we could have scored TD there little confidence for the team and Padron. Also think it is unthinkable for a Div. 1 kicker to miss a 35 yard FG unless it is blocked, holder screws up, etc.

#24 dropped a TD pass late 2nd Q, should have / could have caught that...all this Jones / Padron "bashing" makes me laugh..where is the "our kicker sucks" thread??!?

both missed FG's were into the wind and 40+ yards. not necessarily easy kicks.

but i still think he should have made at least one of them.

I have had a saying about Matt Sysmanski all season, "if it matters, he'll miss it". 47 yards into the wind is one thing, but a 35 yarder on his own field? There was a reason A$M held the door open for him, goodbye! Army's kicker nailed one from 44 yards into the wind.

I find it strange that you have been taking shots at some players...Not something you usually do...still proud of these guys even though they didn't play to their level pretty much all year...maybe JJ deserves more knocks..

Did he muff the first kick? It looked like it was tipped or mis-kicked...

Also, not sure why we didn't burn Loftus red-shirt this year, kid is supposed to be great kicker and we needed him...Special Teams won us 3 games last year and probably lost us 3 this year...

Nick, if you are talking about my comments about McJunkin and Matt, I have had strong thoughts about them from the beginning, just didn't post until the season was over.

Beasly's drop was very out of character. He is usually the most consitant, go-to guy on medium yardage. There were some great catches by DJ and AR that made up for that drop. No doubt if we had that Beasly catch, we were in a different ball game. Padron was not making it easy on his receivers. Most catches were acrobatic and very impressive. Overall, best effort I've seen all year from our receivers.

The real issue again was play calling. Why we went for a 47 yard fg against a strong swirling wind in the fourth after everyone had issues with kicks in that direction is beyond me. We already missed an identical one in the first half. Play calling was better in second half but that call to not go for it on 4th and 5 is inexcusable.

W(hy)TF do we play in black jerseys. That seemed to throw us off more than anything. I don't care if the players voted for them (I don't know). June's love of the black shirt was more powerful than common sense that says our guys are not used to playing in that color. It def effected their game. They should have come out in red or blue in the second half.

Actually, Beasley tends to drop a lot of balls early then improves as the game progresses.

If you're going to trash Matt, you also need to give him huge props not only for the fake punt, but turning it upfield. If he just ran for the first down, we wouldn't have made it with the block-in-the-back penalty.

[deleted] happens, Beasley has improved various aspects of his game and has gotten visibly stronger. you win as a team and lose as a team. this isn't on him. I am glad we have him
