to reach where they are today.
1997 was the base year. In February they signed a game changing RB and in December they signed a new coach who brought a game changing coach with him.
Fran rode LT out of town and their AD passed over Phil bennett and kept the real coach in town. Our AD was busy looking for a coach" who could recruit"

Good for them. I hope it doesn't take SMU as long now that we're evidently on track to continue the improving and advancing.

Patterson Quote:
"At some point in time, I'd like to shut my eyes [and think], 'Hey, we just won the Rose Bowl.' Because if you think about where we came from 13 years ago, we had to walk a mile and a half to the practice field. We had to pull partitions in an old weight room to have meetings. We didn't really have any office space. We didn't have an indoor [practice facility], we didn't have practice fields, and to know where we are right now 13 years later is quite a true story."

No, that wouldn't really be all that satisfying. We needs to focus on our own winning tradition.
