Officially I think they actually postponed their trip to Ford until about 3911 or so.

yes, a long time ago. Northwestern State. Big 10(12) is adding another conference game to their schedules.

My understanding is we were able to move SMU back since we are essentially playing you guys over and over again for a few years so in essence we just start the sequence one year later. We had to drop one (B12 adding a game) so why drop TCU/Rice where we give up a home game or the sun belt team that will take us to the bank if we drop it if SMU is willing to work with us better?

Northwestern State University is in La. Natchitoches La to be exact. The school is about 125 or so years old. Mascot is the Demons and they play in the Southland Conference.

I disagree - we should be playing Baylor every year. They ARE a likely win, they are a BCS team, and Waco is an easy day trip for SMU fans. We should be playing one Big 12 team every year at a minimum, in my opinion. Two BCS teams (TCU and whoever else), one other non-AQ team, and then our C-USA schedule should be the setup - once we dominate that we are ready for bigger and better things.

Oh geez. Get Baylor off the schedule. Why do we play Navy. Don't play Army. What a bunch of pansies. Why don't we just join the Southland Conference. That ain't the SMU I once knew.

All I'm saying is there's no value is playing Baylor. If you want a challenging schedule, then add someone worth beating--not the doormat of the Big 12. I didn't say anything about dropping A&M, TCU, or Navy. At some point the gloves need to come off...just don't get tripped up by anchor teams like Baylor.
Baylor was not the doormat of the Big XII this year.
I don't think they will be next year either

If we want an easy win, we need to schedule the University of Texas, not Baylor

This is exactly what is inhibiting us from filling up Ford Stadium. No one wants to go see SMU play a team like northwestern state that no one has ever heard of.
Your everyday highland park / Dallas residents and students want to see us play "real" schools like Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, etc....
Those are the people that are going to fill up Ford and this is the way to recruit the Lost Generation.

we should always be playing old SWC teams whenever we get the chance...these are our natural rivalries, unlkike Marshall, UCF, USM, etc...
