Man...I tell you, this guy is one of the best voices in the game. But a few years ago he was black-balled to some extent for chastizing a sideline reporter...now this:

i really like him.

he was a local sports anchor for one of the major affiliates in Houston (NBC, I think) growing up in the 70's/80's. he was doing the UT games at that point before going national.

He was an Ole Miss man. The irony that it is also the school of Trent Lott will not be lost on Senator McConnell.

He was great. Unfortunately, his old south male chauvanism was his undoing.

But hwere is Edwards' punishment in this? I know she was the offended party. But she shot back and called him an expletive too. ESPN lets her walk for this?

Did anyone file a complaint on his behalf like they did for her?

She did? Everything I have read said her response was something along the lines of "don't call me that" ... and then he fired his parting shot.

No. He called her that after she told him not to call her by the first name he had used.

Zindler was on the ABC affiliate, Ron worked for the CBS and then the NBC affiliates in H-town.

He grew up in Hazelhurst, Mississippi.

He busted that sideline barbie at a production meeting. If ESPN is supid enough to dump the best announcer in college football for Jeannine Edwards (who?) then screw them.
