the coming winter...

this is the toughest part of the year when SMU football has ended, and the 'deadening' effect takes hold with the knowledge of no more football until August hits...

some relief with signing day news, and the Spring game, but the only true respite is/used to be Dave Campbell's rag in June...kinda like cold turkey.

anyone else in withdrawals?

GO TO MUSTANG BBALL GAMES!!

I'm good because my dirty birds are in the NFL playoffs, but February will be tough.

Except that June doesn't do the annual red/blue scrimmage because it's an opportunity for players to get hurt.

It's still interesting to watch practice during spring training. They start at 7 a.m. and it's a good way to start the day.

If I remember correctly, he did have the scrimmage the first year, it was only last year that he opted out because of already existing injuries, especially on the lines. Don't know if foregoing the spring scrimmage was something he didn't do at Hawaii either?

hmmm, i think a good way to start the day is to sleep until 8. i don't get to do that usually, but getting up at 6 and going to practice isn't really the milk & honey in my morning tea.
