Although I'm not an Alum, I have 2 boys who will be starting at SMU in 2005/2006. One will be in Computer Engineering. The other is interested Computer Game programming. He will be attending a camp this summer around the subject.

I am curious, is there a major specific to Game programming? Or is it part of Software Engineering or Computer Science.

Thanks, for any help

(Not related to the real Dr Jeskey)

SMU doesn't have a game programming related major, per se, although as a Computer Engineer I did get to code the game Monopoly as my senior design project. Your upper level classes can be tailored to match your interests - i.e. Artificial Intelligence, Computer Graphics, etc.

There is something called The Guildhall at SMU. You might want to look into that, although it isn't a program what would replace a Bachlor's degree at SMU - it's kinda like a graduate school for learning how to program games (I think).
