Lastly, they actually have POSTED RULES!
lame
Everything you need to know about posting on RaiderPower
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Post with respect and civility. You don't have to agree with someone to afford them the respect to post their thoughts. If you've come to flame, troll, insult, or have an axe to grind, you won’t be here long.
2. Each of our forums has a unique culture and audience. Spend some time reading BEFORE you start posting. Understand the audience and respect the prevailing culture of each board.
Premium Boards: exclusive reporting and analysis
Sports Boards: focused on Texas Tech, but related topics OK
General Boards: note the descriptions posted on each board
3. If you see a post that violates the user agreement please “report†the post as inappropriate (look for the “report†link in the upper right hand corner of your screen). Or, you can contact a moderator. Moderators aren’t omnipresent. If you see a problem, report it. Links to Mods are listed at the bottom of the first page of each forum.
4. Do not post other publications’ copyrighted material on this board! If you wish to discuss material that is elsewhere you can post a SHORT excerpt & the URL link to the material. Fox Sports & Raider Power has a zero tolerance policy of copyright infringement. Please report all infractions to moderators.
5. We welcome fans of other programs who come to post without flaming or tolling. We may criticize our own program, but take a dim view of others doing so.
6. While most of us are adults, some are not. References to alcohol, drugs and sex are inappropriate. Profanity, circumventing the profanity filter, inappropriate photographs, and personal insults will not be tolerated.
7. Racial, ethnic, homophobic and sexual slurs are grounds for immediate dismissal.
8. Please read the first page for thread topics before you start a new one. Post within a thread, if there is already one started on the topic you want to discuss.
9. With the existence of the premium board for the discussion of Raider Power’s exclusive content, we ask that discussion of these articles remain on that board and not on the free boards. We welcome your subscription to help support this site. For about 25 cents a day, you can have access to insider information about Red Raider sports!
10. We have created a Raider Trader Board in order to help facilitate fans selling and buying tickets & other items from one another. This is a fan-to-fan board, not a place for businesses to market their wares. You are on your own with these transactions. Be wise.
11. Analyzing recruits is fine but please do so with much caution. These are teenagers, and they read these boards. So do their friends and family. Over-the-top criticism of recruits, players, coaches, or administrators will not be tolerated.
12. Raider Power is a great place to market to fellow Red Raiders, but please do not use our message boards to promote your product or company. If you are interested in advertising, contact Steve Pitts, Raider Power Publisher:
[email protected]13. Free speech is not applicable to message boards. We have no problem if that means some of you don't want to post here because of the rules.
14. All board rules also apply to Private Messages (PM). Any board rule violation occurring within inbox messaging is subject to disciplinary action. Do not post content of PMs on the boards.
15. Do not register multiple usernames. If a moderator finds you are using more than one username, that is grounds for banning of all your accounts.
16. Personal attacks and threats will not be tolerated.
17. As a recognized and licensed Texas Tech site through the Fox Network, Raider Power has the clearance to contact recruits. The NCAA does not allow fans to do that. Support our Red Raiders and adhere to the rules regarding recruits!
18: Notes about moderator actions
When posters violate the aforementioned board rules or Terms & Conditions
http://www.scout.com/3/terms-of-service.html, moderators will generally use the following steps (flagrant or repeated violations excepted):
Warning on the board within the post, or by Private Message (PM)
Temporary ban.
Permanent ban for repeat violation.
If you have a problem with a moderator’s action, you can discuss it with any moderator in a private message. Not on the board.
While there are a lot of “don’ts†in the rules, DO have fun joining in discussions with fellow Red Raiders and those who wish they were.
Thanks and welcome to Raider Power!
