I know a bunch of our former players work over at Sewell, and I need a truck for my business (preferably Yale Blue).
Who do we know over there, and who's most likely to give an underpaid webby a good deal?

As I recall from PonyFans LIVE, Romo works for his family in an auto leasing company in the mid cities.

The Sewell business has a long reach. My concrete contractor (North Atlanta) bought a truck from Sewell.

and....I know this is beating the dead horse but...Sewell's director of marketing just retired and as of this semester is fulltime on board at Cox. Maybe one day someone from the athletic dept will dial that extension

This is not a dead horse. I think hiring an SMU graduate, who understands the culture and tradition, would keep the knuckleheaded moves to a minimum. At least use the guy as a sounding board.

I can't repeat myself enough and Niemi is far to light in the loafers to listen...But the marketing could easily be done in house with a program involving the top BBA marketing and MBA marketing students working with a coop of Cox and the Athletic department...
We currently do it with our endowment, letting top Finance majors handle a portion...There is no reason there shouldn't be a class at cox involving this....

How can you get more practical experience than working on an actual campaign....interacting with TV, print, ect.?
Imagine going to an interview and talking about this....
In general I think Marketing is the worst Business major, but this is an actual practical application...

Moving farther and farther away from the original topic, but my father-in-law, former Arizona SID, AD of Florida International (before football), and director of the Crimson Tide Sports Network, teaches Sports Marketing at Alabama in his retirement. I would love for SMU to offer a similar course, taught by someone with experience in successful marketing of COLLEGE athletics, either as part of the business school or a marketing degree.
But really, a half-trained monkey could do a better job than what we currently have.

SMU does offer a sports marketing course. I'm not sure who teaches it.
