Who else is getting dropped?I know we got dropped by BU and Tech gave TCU the heave-ho - who else has been told "see ya" by UT+9 Conference teams?
Re: Who else is getting dropped?Red Raider Sports puts it back in TCU's court.

Who else is getting dropped?Of course they do. They always think the world is against them. I'm really surprised they didn't just fall back to their standard if blaming the Aggies like they do for most things.

Re: Who else is getting dropped? The University of Houston is giving itself one chance — and one chance only — to knock off a football team from a marquee conference in 2011.
UH on Thursday announced a non-conference schedule in which the Sept. 3 opener against UCLA at Robertson Stadium is the only game against an opponent from one of the Bowl Championship Series automatic qualifying conferences. The Cougars’ other non-conference home game is Sept. 24 against Georgia State, which is in its second season as a Football Championship Subdivision entity (Division I-AA). Georgia State went 6-5 in its first season under Bill Curry, a former Alabama head coach and NFL player. The two non-conference road games come against North Texas on Sept. 10 and Louisiana Tech on Sept. 17. North Texas, a Sun Belt Conference member that hired Dan McCarney after a 3-9 2010 season, will make its debut in a new stadium in the Sept. 10 game. Louisiana Tech is coming off a 5-7 record playing in the Western Athletic Conference under first-year coach Sonny Dykes. Conference USA typically releases the league schedule in March. UH will have four home dates in C-USA play, giving it six games at Robertson Stadium for the season.
Re: Who else is getting dropped?Once UCLA gets a taste of Robertson Stadium, they may not want to go back to the Rose Bowl.
Re: Who else is getting dropped?
Iowa State dropped Utah.
They played there back in the late 90's when it wasn't as fancy as it is today!
Re: Who else is getting dropped?I'm not sure who is dropping who these days. I've missed reading the Enquirer.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Who else is getting dropped?Interesting quotes from the article.
"Horn reported that TCU was "less hungry to play Texas Tech" after ESPN arranged a season-opening matchup with Oregon State at Cowboys Stadium and, as a result, the network "helped move" Tennessee Tech onto the Horned Frogs' schedule in place of Texas Tech" and "Tech has actually reached out to TCU to work on a new contract, a home and home, to be scheduled for a couple of years down the road, but those overtures have so far been met with no response." "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Who else is getting dropped? Now that TCU will be in a BCS Conference in 2012, I'm sure, besides SMU, they will be more interested in playing " the little sisters of the poor" out of conference. Probably a 1AA and some Sun Belt or future WAC teams.
Re: Who else is getting dropped? The real reason is buried in the story.
TCU voided/cancelled the contract with Tech last year when they agreed to play Oregon State @ Jerry World. With the expansion to the 9 game conference schedule in B12/10, Tech had to drop a non conference game. TCU was no longer under contract, therefore no cancellation fee, makes this a pretty simple decision.
Re: Who else is getting dropped?CUSA needs to step up and beat the big boys. Makes it tougher to schedule nowadays.
Re: Who else is getting dropped?
Well TCU did just move to the Big East, so they may be waiting to see how that affects their schedule in the near term. Plus, maybe they want to play someone besides Tech, in case they want to distance themselves from nearby schools that are of similar talent that recruit in their backyard?
Re: Who else is getting dropped?
BS! The Tech- UT game was moved up to early in the season for TV purposes so the Tech-TCU game date had to be moved at a minimum. After this time TCU-OSU was announced. Tech is scared.
Re: Who else is getting dropped?they both had the date saved this year. If Tech wanted to play them in Ft Worth I'm sure they could have figured it out instead of playing Texas State. Its almost always the BCS school screwing the small school just like A&M will do to SMU. Baylor could have played SMU-how much you want to bet there is a Sister of the Poor playing in Waco instead
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
