With the 2010 season in the books, there is news emerging out of the eilte college football conferences. The Blue Sky Conference has offered SMU, Houston and Rice membership, while Tulsa and Tulane are waiting for the weather to clear. Current members Notre Dame, BYU, Navy and Army are independent minded, but decided to extend invitations to these three Texas schools in order to ensure that all 5 star rated Texas High School recruits will choose their conference as their only option.

The conference will draft only top rated High School players, who must choose which religion or military service they prefer, as long as they have SATs greater than 1500.

Fox and ESPN are in the bidding for televsion rights, but they may be too late. Reports out of London suggest that the BBC has offered access to European market, where the Conference Championship game will rotate between EU capitals. Given the 'High' interest in Amsterdam, the Dutch have selected the Van Gogh museum as the site for the inaugural championship game, which will be sponsored by Zig Zag.

A interesting sideline is the newly independent Texas Longhorns willingness to drop their new TV contract in order to join Blue Sky, but the application was rejected by the Blue Sky comissioner, Mike Leach, who said it was not worthy of his attention.

As a result of these dramatic developments, the BCS conferences announced that a National Playoff System will replace the current BCS system, beginning in 2012. The rotation between the current BCS Bowls will be terminated and the Championship will find a permanent home at Highland Park High School Scots Stadium with Mrs. Baird's the title sponsor.
