SMU Basketball is 12-8 (3-3 conference) with wins over memphis, souther miss and tulsa. All of this is being done with marginal talent (good system, coaching, effort), while a huge influx of talent comes in next year.

There were some problems getting some of our international players grades to carry over so they had to sit out this year. However, word on the street from people who watch the practices is that our practice squad of players ineligible till next year, constantly whoops our starters butts in practice. They've been so nicknamed the fab five. They include a mix of transfers and freshman who will play next year. The best two recruits are 6'9 Richmonds Vilde and 6'7 Leslee Smith who can both bang around the rim and shoot from outside. Also, we have a couple of exciting transfers. A 4 star UT recruit and talented kid from Nevada named Cotton Giles. Keep in mind we are 12-8, playing without these kids right now. Their contribution has been giving our starters better competition in practice. Also, Doh has a great recruiting class comign in. A four star Power Forward and a couple three star gaurd/forward prospects.

I had no idea....not sure how it got turned around. TCU is going in the opposite direction.

Is this a result of the new assistant coach?

I think that team should serve as a reminder that even a team with relatively little talent should be able to have some success with Senior experienced leadership. Now if you have a team of talented Seniors then you really got something-no disrespect to Dia
