Okay, SMU got most of the guys on the list, Wall excepted. Congratulations again to the coaching staff and perhaps a special tip of the hat to Coach Klemm. Let's hope they all get in school and can handle the academic program.

I hope that some of you closer to the Hilltop will take a crack at my questions below.

Who is the most likely to start as a true freshman?

Who are the most likely to crack the two deep on offense or defense or special teams?

How close is SMU to being able to alternate two O-Lines?

Moreland or Holleman IMO.

I think first to start will be Moreland easy. I could see Richardson being the first to take the field on kickoff return.

Coaches mentioned several that probably would not red shirt. However, they were quick to add it really depends on how any particular freshman progresses in fall practices. Moreland mentioned as someone who might crack the starting lineup early in the season.

There is more to playing LB than pass rushing. I would be very surprised for Moreland to immediately start if he plays there. He could start at DE but we are already pretty solid there with starters. I do see him contributing a lot in 2011 but not necessarily starting from day 1.

My guess is the JC CB. WE need a solid CB and we lost some good players at that position this last year. I could see the Fr WR getting some good playing time as the skills needed to develop there are not as great as on D or the O-line.

I would suspect any RB would be limited to Special Teams as we demand a lot of pass blocking from that position.

I see most of this class in a backup role which is desperately needed. Let them contribute and learn in a more controlled environment.

Of course key injuries could push any of these kids into a starter role.

That is pretty much what Jones said. We needed depth on defense and we got it. Houston should be delighted that we may not have to fake injuries to slow them down anymore.

He will play LB. A number of these new kids will get to play next season but Moreland was the only one singled out as having a chance of becoming a starter as season progressed. Not initially but later in season.

My guessit will take some time for moreland to become an every down player, wouldn't be surprised if he makes early appearances on passing downs as a blitzer.
