"No NFL football next fall!" What are you going to do Clem?" "I see my wife making a really long list of things to do". "Hmm, I hear that they have Cowboys riding on Mustangs at SMU games! And they have an exciting team with June Jones running things and tickets cost a fraction of those Jerry World tickets. And they even have luxury boxes." Announcer - "Season's and Partial plan Tickets are available for SMU football. Our doors will be open this fall."

Shockingly good idea. A lot of disposable income out there that will need entrainment on Fall weekends. If I was SMU, I'd also be pushing our TV rights (for games not picked up by our new partner Fox Sports) because people will be craving any type of Football in a few months. Might as well strike while there is opportunity.
Speaking of opportunity, if there is no Cowboys season, this would be the best year for SMU to make an undefeated run even if it is only 8 or 10 games long, it would get tons of coverage locally.

Well one thing for sure, SMU needs to be a lot more aggressive this year about marketing football tickets and come up with a lot better plan in doing so than the one the last few years. JJ & Co. are getting ready to produce the kind of team we all want in the next few years and it is time for SMU to work harder in reaching out to other potential fans in the D/FW area.
