hard to beat a $280,000 Jewelry bill but in 2nd Lawsuit it is claimed that he ran up a line of credit in excess of $600,000 (mostly for more jewelry) starting with prior to his junior year although in the several reports I've read there has not yet been a connection to a OSU booster or representative or whether this might be connected to an agent.

Apparently, Dez Bryant is one of the lesser gifted in terms of brain power. Throw him the ball, let him go get it. But don't under any circumstances take him to Northpark with a credit card.

interesting that the 2 together total to about 850k and he will be making 2.1 w/ his roster bonus this season.
he likely made in excess of 4 million last season including endorsements and appearance fees but the way this guy goes through money i wouldn't be surprised if that salary coming to him this year is already half spent before you get to these pending suits.

Based on the article, it doesn't look as anything the NCAA would find interesting. Another 'Move alone, nothing to see here' event for the NCAA.

It would have been better had he been shopping at Northpark...let's see, he bought $50,000 worth of jewelry for $600,000, think they saw him coming?

Wonder if Dez cross-claims against a booster or agent for forgetting to pay the bill. Three wise monkeys at the NCAA will see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil about Ohio State. And we're walking...

Well he took home far, far under those numbers after taxes in his bracket, maybe he forgot that when he signed a contract his salary isn't tax free. Whoops.

completely agree...i remember his financial advisor being interviewed by GAC when that 54,000 dinner bill came down for his insubordination. needless to say he said that, that particular incident was not in his plan...but i wonder, what kind of rein does his advisor really have given all the cash he is blowing through BEFORE taxes?

Oh, and don't forget the 6% the agent gets off the top on everything he makes.

I think it might be refreshing to refer to player salaries by the amount they actually get. Sure A-Rod got 275 million, and uhh yeah that's a lot, but in the end how much did A-Rod actually sign for after federal income, state income, agent's fees, etc. I know he fired Boras so maybe that's an extra 6% or so added on, but just an example.
Imagine ESPN/CBS Sports reporting that Pujols signs for 10 years, 164 million after taxes and Lozano's take. Athletes still make a pretty penny, but I think it'd be an interesting exercise.

and if he is a resident of NYC then he's paying about 60% of his income to taxes including the Fed
