SMU head coach June Jones announced Tuesday that because freshmen Darryl Fields and Kevin Pope are two of the Ponies' best athletes, Jones and the rest of the SMU coaching staff are going to take a look at both players at linebacker this spring (while still working as running backs, too). Pope visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the move, his role as a high school linebacker and who he has sought out for help learning the SMU defense.
