was emailed today..which is the same thing they sent out awhile ago, outlining things that are no-no's for boosters to do.

So, does the section below excerpted from the newsletter prove that, yes, Cougar High committed violations by allowing only athletes to sit in UConn's seats at the Final Four? Or can the school do something that boosters can't? Technically who provided the benefits?


Infractions: Boosters
may not provide studentathletes or their relatives
with any extra benefits
including complimentary
admissions, access to
special seating in athletic
facilities and complimentary meals. In this scenario, the boosters provided
a student-athlete’s parents with extra benefits,
and thus a violation occurred.

well Boosters of UCONN are not Boosters of UH-plus weren't they availiable to the student body at large-one of which was identified as a UH athlete-the reason behind the rule evaporates when you are talking 2 different unrelated schools

kidding aside, I thought I read where Rice made them available to the student body, but UH made them available only to athletes. Couldve been the context of the article

That wasn't a newsletter. That was a 'check the box, CYA' compliance gimmick.

That was my understanding also, that UH had offered the free tickets to only athletes and that Rice had made them equally available to all students. I think that UH should be shut down for ever.

According to some UH students that post on the CUSA board, UH offered the tickets to their student body at large, just as Rice did.
