Crummy uniforms on Parade

Postby ponyte » Wed Apr 13, 2011 11:04 am

Seems there is an Uniform race. Much like the old arms race. Except the idea here isn’t to improve uniforms but to make them worse..

Here's the latest:

I like the design, I just wish they had stuck with the traditonal colors.

Great helmet, though.

Black... Arizona temperatures and sun... This seems like a good idea

I see the XFL has become inspiration for new uni schemes

Not a fan of the front collar, otherwise its fine I guess. Similar to our unis, I'm not sure when black entered their color scheme

I don't see that. The helmet reminds me of Florida State, who I think has a great design, and for the most part the uiniform is simple. Nike has come out with far worse, IMO.

Again, I just hate that EVERYBODY now thinks they have to go to black, including apparently us. It's kind of like 10 years ago when everybody thought they had to go with a stripe-less helmet and we got just ugly helmets despite having possibly the coolest helmet logo in all of college football. Red and Gold (or yellow, whatever ASU's colors are) are solid colors, IF you put a little thought into it. Change the tones, that's fine, but don't completely redo the color scheme.

ASU Fight Song

Fight, Devils Down The Field
Fight With Your Might and Don't
Ever Yield
Long May Our Colors Outshine All
Others

Echo From The Buttes, Give 'Em
Hell Devils!
Cheer, Cheer For A-S-U
Fight For The Old Maroon
For it's Hail, Hail, The Gang's All
Here
And It's Onward to Victory!

I like the pitchfork!... And the idea of Walt Disney being the "Devil" has always made sense. Check out Disney back when he was at the helm! Very dark! Snow White, Fantasia, Bambi, and the best of the best, Alice in Wonderland to name a few...

On another note, I never realized how much "Sparky" the Sun Devil looked like Walt Disney, but he does...
