Bryan Collins is getting ready for his third season at SMU, and while he is not pencilled in to the starting lineup, he might well be the Mustangs' most versatile lineman, already having played four of the five positions on the offensive line. Collins visited with PonyFans.com to discuss how it felt to start his first college game two years ago, how he is different as a player with two college seasons behind him and what he can learn from the six linemen who will be seniors in the 2011 season.

Enjoy!

Good story, and this guy is more important than we think. When next year's seniors graduate, he's going to be the veteran leader of the line. I like the fact that he respects his teammates without hiding the fact that he wants to be on the field. Being able to play that many positions, he's a really valuable part of the offense.

Agree smuguy. Collins is as valuable as the starters.

The value of the six seniors can't be pointed out enough, but this guy is crucial. When those guys graduate, Collins not only will have to lead the way on the field, he also will have to be there to teach the young guys the way to prepare, to lift, to study film, etc. He's going to be the bridge to the next generation of linemen.
