BYRON BROWN: Patience paying off

Defensive coordinator Tom Mason says linebacker Byron Brown is right on schedule, that most college players really step into major roles in their junior seasons. True to Mason's formula, Brown has opened a lot eyes — including Mason's — with a strong showing in this year's spring workouts. Brown visited with PonyFans.com to discuss a hurdle that impeded his early development, and how he has changed, both physically and mentally, as he prepares for what he hopes will be his breakout season.

Enjoy!

He runs in the 4.4s?
I had no idea he was that fast. Sure would be nice to figure out a way to get him on the field.
Nice write-up, PP.

Sounds like a guy with intelligence and humility that many lack. Good luck, Byron.

I remember seeing a lot of ink about him when his class first reported for 2-a-days. His name was mentioned a lot saying that he was looking good in conditioning drills and leading in most for the linebackers. Then I guess he got hurt and we haven't heard anything about him since.
