Was thinking that myself.

I have to admit I like the Thursday prime time first round.

Andy Dalton (QB,TCU) - Mel Kiper's #1 QB draft pick - still sitting by the phone after Round 1.

Over-rated! (clap, clap, clap clap clap)

That talk of putting this guy in the first round (top 10?) was comical. Nice college player (sorry - just threw up a little), but marginal pro, I'm guessing.

He was always an average QB. He did finish strong - last game was his best

Andy Dalton reminds me of a collegiate level version of Ben Roethlisberger - good leader of a team, but isn't going to light up the stat sheet every week. If he can transition that to the pros, he could have a nice career. But if I were an NFL exec or coach, I wouldn't have drafted him in the first round either.

Not exactly his number one QB. Newton, Gabbert, and Locker were ranked ahead of him. They were all chosen first as was Ponder. He is now Kiper's number one QB remaining. I think Mallett is a better choice than Dalton at this point.

I'd rather have the big kid from Nevada — Kaepernick — than Dalton. He's not ready to step in today, but his physical tools are lightyears better than Dalton's.

Besides, he's not a Frog, which is an enormous plus.

Kapernick isn't a legitimate pro QB. Dalton is very similar to Drew Brees in many ways - he'll have a good career. If you are even average in terms of arm strength (which he is) but have good accuracy and an excellent football IQ then you can succeed as an NFL QB. Dalton will be good, and you'll see Kapernick out of football by the time Dalton is a starter.

If I were Minnesota I would have traded down to the late first and taken Dalton instead of wasting my pick on Ponder.

I don't believe in Mallet either, because his skills are exactly the opposite of what I noted above - strong arm, poor accuracy, and a football IQ slightly higher than Vince Young.

Heard on the Ticket draft coverage that the LSU corner taken at 5 I think turned in a bottom 5 wunderlick score of 9.

Looks like another John Beck, Mountain West QB with average everything that benefited from a weak draft class at QB was overhyped leading up to the draft and eventually got overdrafted. Should stick in the league for awhile due to smarts but will never be trusted to lead a franchise. Not seeing the Roethlisberger comparison, Ben has 3 inches and 25 pounds on Dalton, a much better arm and wasn't surrounded by anywhere near the amount of talent in college.

I'm not counting on it, but it would be nice if Al went in the 3rd round today.

Good for him that he's in the NFL. Should improve his chances with the ladies.
