Margus Hunt is the only player ever to win the World Junior Championship in the shot put and the discus in the same year.

And apparently his team just scored a touchdown.

You get points for knocking out a field judge.

And you can watch him at the 2012 Olympics in London. Nice to see SMU represented at that event.

Except he's not throwing now. Even before he hurt his shoulder, he is concentrating on football now.

The best all around thrower in several generations gives up what has been his life for as early as he can remember to play for the Mustangs. That's a story line.

Yeah, I think that kind of flew below the radar this Spring when Margus said that.

You think Wolman (sp?) will be as willing to hand over a T&F star in the future now that Margus is re-focusing his attention?

(I realize there is no Men's track team at SMU, but it has to hurt Wolman since he loves the sport)

You wont like the story line so much when he leaves after this season with one to play...

Guy will make an NFL roster on size/speed alone...no idea if he ever plays...

I can imagine JJ will advise him to get as much experience as he can at this level before taking his show to the NFL. He's what you'd call raw.

I think it was JJ who acknowledged that Margus is likely leaving after this year.

Yeah, that's what JJ said. I wonder if this will come to fruition unless Margus has double digit sacks. Even with JJ's comments, I see Margus understanding one more year in college might be good for him. I'm not a draft expert, but I would think the NFL would like to see him go back for his fourth year. If Margus goes on a tear this year and has 16+ sacks, he's gone no doubt about it.

Hope he does that and leaves... We will be 10-2 if hunt has 16 sacks
