Former opponent, Ron Springs, passes away

Former Ohio State Opponent (and Dallas Cowboy) Ron Springs has passed away.

He was OSU's big back when we played OSU in Columbus in 1978. I remember him trying to whip up the 89,000+ late in the game. Mike Ford and the SMU offense put up 14 points in the fourth quarter to tie OSU. It was the largest point spread comeback in the 4th quarter against OSU in years. I don’t remember Springs having anything spectacular against us. But then he was facing Putt Choate.
And I hope this tangential to SMU football doesn't get me banned from the board.
