Arkansas is releasing players left and right. 4 in the last 2 days. I noticed one of them was a 4 star linebacker out of Rockwall. I believe his name was Moss but I could be wrong. Downside is that he played as a freshman and redshirted last year so he would have 2 years after sitting out another year. I imagine he goes to a lower division, but hopefully we have approached him. They also released a kicker which I would not mind having on the sidelines in case something happened to Loftus, and a 4 star OL.

Since these boys are being released from their scholarships, could they be eligible to play D-1 this fall? I thought if the school gives the ok along with the NCAA they could be allowed to play without having to sit out a year. Of course, assuming they do not transfer to another SEC school or UT.

No -only if there is a hardship ruling.

btw- I believe Cam Feldt is the older brother of Boone Feldt who is already rated a high 3 stars by Rivals but has n't committed anywhere. Some team could get a 2 for 1 deal.

Was this the result of over recruiting the 85 limit or an attempt to avoid trouble for some recruiting or other actions?

No joke! Isn't that kind of like being kicked off a prison league team?
Two of the Texas player are HS coaches sons. This type of player usually has a degree of respect, maybe they expected the same in return.

Why are kis punished if the school yanks their scholarship? Who is the NCAA trying to protect? Ark doesn't want them, so why should they still have to sit a year?

So now I get to once again promote the "Mrydel Rule". Allow kids transferring from the AQ schools to non AQ Div 1 schools to have immediate eligibility. This would help even the playing field a little while providing for the kids who had dreams of being on a big AQ team and finding themselves sitting on the bench to have a chance to go to a D-1 school without losing a year. It is a no-brainer to me but I do not imagine it would go over real big with the AQ schools.
