Who was the booster with a car dealership back then? That probably would answer your question.

Tee shirts and pennants back then had that Angry skinnny mean looking mustang... READY TO FIGHT.

don't think it was Bankston...but the Bug (1960) was my ride from 1977-81...still fondly miss that car.

I remember a late 70s TV commercial (I still have it on tape) where the dealership's kid was the one begging folks to buy from his Dad's Chrysler dealership so he wouldn't grow up an Aggie. Little blonde kid in a football uniform. Must have been more popular sells job than I realized since so many used it at one time.

This photo may have been mid to late 50s. By 1963 there were a number of small fountains ( at least 6) spaced out all the way down the Boulevard green way below the old flag pole/turn around. Each fountain was filled with water and the pedestal in the middle of the fountain was the foundation for an elaborate bronze sculpture with a water spray at the base of the sculpture and possibly lights if my memory serves me. I would guess that the fountain pictured herein was under construction as the initial fountain in the absence of other fountains, no sculptures and coupled with the very white color possibly indicating it is new without any weathering. By 1963 the fountains were well weathered, some were not spraying water well and all were in need of repairs that were not effected. By 1967 all the fountains were dry and some of the sculptures had been removed leaving a fairly ugly sight. It would be interesting to see what ever happened to the sculptures as they were very interesting and well done. Great initial additions to the Boulevard that were subsequently left to neglect and disrepair.

The two cars on the right are a 1962 Ford and a 1959 Chevrolet.

Something never change. I scanned the photo and blow it up on the computer. Sure enough, I found 3 parking tickets on the cars to the left.
