For those that remember it, and those that never saw it, here is a taste of the 1978 SMU vs OSU game in Columbus. A great comeback and almost win.

ponyte,
Thanks for sharing that. I remember that game, I saved the Sunday sports page but it was lost or thrown away when I left for college. What a game.. What a time.

Note we ended with something like 32 First Downs about double Ohio St. That 91 yard drive was emblamatic of the entire day-they had no idea how to stop us.

How did the final couple of minutes play out? Did they try to move the ball? Did we get it back? I never saw anything on this game since I was out of the area and had no way to listen.

Seems like SMU missed a field goal at the gun, but I could be wrong.

I remember listening to the game on the radio look at the schedule we had back then.

Our D held ad we got the ball back. We had a short drive and on the very last play, Eddie Garcia attempted a 49 yard field goal. It was just wide left.
We started the 4th quarter down by 14 points. iT was the largest margin overcome by an opponent in Columbus heading into the 4th quarter.

So it was a prelude to the SMU/Arkansas game a few years later.
