Aren't they putting the old Ford turf on the practice field?

What do you mean it's gone? Part of it was covered up by that wedding reception — you would think the rental contract would have included enough money to re-seed the field in case the grass died — but are you saying the whole thing has been disassembled? If so ... why? Obviously it's beneficial to be able to practice on grass and artificial turf. Maybe they're just re-seeding or something. Surely they're not eliminating the grass practice field.

Saw it myself yesterday. It's gone except for the old endzone they moved from the stadium.

How does it "go". Black hole? New swimming facility? Bottomless pit?

Please refer to the pictures of Ford when there was no turf on it. That's what the practice field now looks like, with the exception of the endzones from Ford.

The family who hosted the wedding reception are paying to have the field redone. I don't know if it was part of the agreement for having the reception there or if it was a thank you for being able to have it there. It's a generous gesture, though.

I was told the lot west of westcot, also told indoor facility is in 5 year plan but 3rd in line of athletic projects

So the IPF will go where the parking lot is behind the freshman dorms?

THIRD in line? What the hell is ahead of it? I know they're building another tennis facility, but that's not on the athletic department's agenda — the university claimed the space where the current tennis courts are for parking (or something) for the Dubbya Bookmobile, so the university is paying for the new facility (at the old Mrs. Baird's location) out of non-athletic department dollars.

Maybe the Moody facelift is counted as one of the agenda items ahead of the IPF, and if there's any justice in the world, the other item would be a new natatorium or a track that could host events.

Naaaahhh...

And if there were any logic in SMU's world, a baseball stadium would be a priority. Look at all the Texas private schools in the NCAA baseball tournament. And baseball is a sport people will come out and support.
