Skimmed through Athlon's annual college preview issue and SMU is predicted to finish #1 in the C-USA West. They praised the amount of returning players we have and think this team, if healthy, can keep up with anyone in the conference. I tend to agree, but I think not having a solid defender in our secondary and no known Emmanuel/Aldrick type playmaking receiver on the roster may hurt. Hopefully someone steps up into that role.
The worst part was that this magazing got me so pumped for college ball and it's 3 months away!!

I think it's safe to say we can compete for the title, but it's far from a sure thing. Until we know how healthy everyone is (Padron, Thompson, Hunt, McKinnon, Line, etc.) and sort out the WR rotation, it's impossible to predict anything. In addition, Houston is always extremely fast, Tulsa still has G.J. Kinne. We're one of the better teams, to be sure, and this probably is the most talented post-DP team we have had, but we're not exactly a juggernaut ... yet.

Plus were still waiting on who is eligble, and who is not. Pony Up!

If you mean D.C.T.F., I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Used to buy all of them to see what they said about my kid. Now I could care less. -)

This is just the winter edition right? The fall edition usually has a few notable players from around the state on the cover. It usually comes out in mid-June.

Unlike previous years(decades) we have one other positive that usually is overlooked. We have more depth. Not to an elite level of depth yet but certainly more than we have had in decades pass. We may be a bit better off this year with injuries since we have a bit more depth.

I bought Athlons over the weekend, and they are actually pretty high on us. It was fun seeing 4 different SMU players in their Top 100 fantasy college football team.

Might want to re-check depth and returning players sections...
