Seems like a Zach Line type of player. Hopefully he has the same impact.

"All State in California with no Scholie" ? The answer might be that Truckee, California is a small town of 16,000 in the mountains close to Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada. Not saying the guy is not a good athlete, but there might not be a lot of D1 players out of California who played in that area.

Because of Truckee's semi isolated location, it could be simply a case of nobody seeing him play.

Then how was he an all-state selection. Someone had to have seen him play.

Being from a small town, he would not be like a 5A type All State player here in Texas. Remember, there are also All State 1A, 2A, and Private League All State kids here. Different All State leagues in California also. So the question is All State in what Cali. high school league ?

there are a bunch of all-state guys that don't have the physical skills to project to Division 1A-pretty common especially if the team is picked by Coaches and especially in the lower classifications. I have no idea about this kid.

There's also a more lopsided imbalance of quality players to available scholarships out there. Texas is recruited so heavily most of the good players get seen by enough schools. Some areas of California (L.A., Orange County, San Diego) are heavily recruited, but there are a lot of areas that get relatively light recruiting attention.

That being said ... WELCOME TO SMU, MORGAN!

Might be a little cold as the snowpack is 500% of normal for this date in the northern Sierra

Truckee would be in one of California's smaller school classifications. They do have a snowboard and ski team though that probably kicks [deleted].
