Note CUSA listed with 2 Bowls in Dallas-6 bowls total. Maybe I missed it but I thought the Ticket City Bowl in Cotton Bowl had not yet been certified due to funding issues. Has that been resolved-it appears to be because this is apparently from an official release. Wouldn't be surprised to see SMU in "Cotton Bowl" on New Years Day against a Big 10 Opponent . CUSA will do what is neccessary to protect conference affiliation with BCS conference on New Years Day(actually Jan 2 since Jan 1 is Sunday

CUSA opponents in bowls.
BIG 10
BIG EAST
SEC
BYU
WAC
SBC

Good chance for CUSA to prove itself against AQ's and BYU.

A bowl game is a bowl game is a bowl game, but I have my reservations about us playing in Dallas again.

I'd bet Dallas unless we win CUSA

Will the liberty bowl still get the first choice of C-USA or will the cotton bowl get first choice? I would love to play a big 10 team in the cotton bowl.

Would rather play a nationally televised game on ABC (Liberty) than a game on ESPNU (TicketCity).

Might be embarrassing if we get the "Cotton Bowl". Could we even fill half the stadium? God forbid it is Northwestern v SMU. Even with the impressive showing by SMU fans at home last year against Army, I think that is the max we can pull for a bowl game.

I would suggest to the promoters that all seats be $5 to pump up interest and attendance.

The attendance last year for Texas Tech vs Northwestern was embarrassing

Northwestern fans didn't fill even 1 section of the Cotton Bowl. Most bland, worthless opponent in Tech bowl history.

SMU needs a Challenge to wake some alumni up. I'd like to think of it as an opportunity

While agreeing with you, I just don't know what it would be. The 10,000 we had at the Ford Stadium bowl game, wouldn't fill the restrooms at the 90,000 seat Cotton Bowl.

Well, something needs to give. Whether it's us stringing together a 10+ win season or two, or bribing Dallas residents to come, or taking out a loan to fund a marketing department, or answering a challenge like that- something has to give.

I know, I know, beating a dead horse.

The CUSA should lobby the NCAA and ask them to punish Ohio State by making them play in the Cotton Bowl against a CUSA team; that would help attendance and penalize OSU at the same time.

Nice thought to help the bowl in Dallas but if you want to punish OSU I would send them to the Humanitarian Bowl for 5 years. Boise in December can not be a true paradise.
