trending on twitter: #FireCraigJames

Evidently, the guy who ghost wrote Leach's book, Bruce Feldman, was suspended by ESPN in wake of its release, and "everyone's pissed"

People calling for the boycott of ESPN etc..

Prime opportunity for Ruppet Murdoch to take the money he would have spent on British TV and consolidate regional Fox sports channels to compete against ESPN's monopoly.

awfulannouncing is a good website, and ESPN sucks. This excerpt pretty much sums up his article:

1) As background, Mike Leach enters into a feud with ESPN college football analyst Craig James over a controversy involving Craig's son Adam.
2) Bruce Feldman helps Mike Leach write his book, Swing Your Sword, including comments about the James controversy and ESPN's possible role in hyping, twisting, and let's just say making up and promulgating lies about the Adam James controversy.
3) Bruce Feldman, and this is important now, receives permission from ESPN to participate in Leach's book. You'll see why this is crucial in a second.
4) Excerpts of Leach's book are published incriminating Craig James and others in the Leach controversy.
5) Feldman is indefinitely suspended for participating in Leach's book.
6) SEE #3 WHERE ESPN GAVE HIM $%#&ING PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BOOK.
7) #FreeBruce and Bruce Feldman are now trending on Twitter as the internet, media, and any person with one shred of decency or common sense realizes the travesty that ESPN pulled...

Except ESPN says Feldman never was suspended.

This whole thing is incredibly juvenile. I have never been a huge Craig James fan, but what father shouldn't stand up for his son; and it couldn't be more obvious that Leach is a [deleted] X 10.

I think it is less about "standing up for his son" and more about abusing his power to manipulate the situation. At least that's the alleged issue. And those emails that got circulated around were pretty daming as well from several high powered alumni. But, I think the best Leach will do is get egg on everybody's face again and that will have to be enough. And sell some books.

They said he was never suspended and that he will "resume" his duties. Interesting word choice. Giant clusterfuck over there at ESPN. And absolutely reprehensible behavior towards a great journalist. And I'll stop there since so much has already been written about it.

Right. He's taking a mysteriously long vacation.

Great? Wouldn't go that far. Not bad, but far from great. Some of his writing is pretty mediocre.
