So now the word is that they are going to charge an "appearance fee" for Big 12 opponents to play on the Longhorn Network. That's a lot of gall out of a team that went 5-7 last year with home losses to Iowa State and Bible Aggy. I'm really, really starting to hate those mf'ers.

I read this differently than you do:

Beebe wants to clarify for the member schools what would be included for the opponent of UT in such a game. Beebe said DeLoss Dodds has talked about Texas taking some of its share of revenue from ESPN and giving "appearance fees" to the Big 12 schools it would face on LHN.

"Appearance Fee", sorta like a sitcom, an old star (team) makes a token appearance and is never seen again. Those arrogant bast'ds.

So everyone in the conference refuses to pay.

I know every one here in Houston is really upset with them for wanting to air high school games on the network.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson allegedly beat his roommate's face to a bloody oozing pulp, putting the guy in the HOSPITAL -- and TMZ has obtained a photo of the facial destruction.



Cedric's attorney released a statement, claiming the NFL star was provoked in the attack -- and Charles was exploiting the incident as an opportunity to extort the running back.

Charles' attorney shot back with his own statement, calling the alleged attack "an unprovoked, violent assault" ... DENYING the extortion claims -- insisting Charles hasn't made a single request for money since the incident.

According to his attorney, Charles has already incurred THOUSANDS of dollars in medical bills ... and still has further medical procedures pending.

I have a daughter that is very interested in going to UT. Its killing me. I told her she can go if she wants to and I will do the parent visit stuff. But I will not wear that ugly arse orange or put that female reproductive system symbol on any of my cars!

From what I heard about benson when he was in chicAgo was that roommate is a loose term.

Did you read my post? The other teams in that appear on the Longhorn network RECEIVE an appearance fee. They are going to be paid to be on the network. It's sort of a revenue sharing aggreement in a way.

They are not being CHARGED an appearance fee to be on the network.

Message to Big 12---just say no! Regardless of the fee. If no one shows, it will cripple their plans.
