Just read that the Washington Redskins have reached a contract agreement (terms not yet disclosed) with SMU's Aldrick Robinson.

Rotoworld.com calls it a four-year deal (but also says veteran additions could have Robinson headed to practice squad). They need to dump Gaffney after training camp ... and Malcolm Kelly (now) ... and a bunch of other scrubs.

Before you put a player on the practice squad you have to give every other team in the league a chance to sign him. So if AR doesn't make the redskins roster he will have a chance to sign with whoever he wants before going on their practice squad. He could even sign for someone else's practice squad if he chose to.

any word on Shawnbrey McNeal?

Hopefully Al gets some good chances in the preseason to show what he can do. It might be hard with the lockout happening, because teams are going to be playing their 1s and 2s more. Good preseason showings have allowed McCann and Justin Rogers to be signed to other teams 53 man rosters before the season.

Their running game is garbage, and they cut McNeal. I'm starting to agree with those of you who suggest that Shanahan is making that team worse.

that sucks. i really hope he can get into camp with someone, but i'm afraid that window is closing.
