Maurice Hood

It was my understanding that this talented DB non qualifier, at the end of the school year, had to take and pass a few courses in summer school in order to meet NCAA requirements and get into SMU. I assume his summer school was completed this last week. Anyone know whether he will be with the team at the start of fall practice ?

#27 on fall roster. Assume they are expecting him.

I guess he just got on the roster the last few days. Very good news ! I think his talent level will be a lot better than some may realize. He was an under the radar guy even though he was a JUCO All American DB. He provides important depth at CB we just did not have last year when Sterling Moore went down. Hood may earn a starting CB spot.

If he did make it in, I hope he maintains his grades!

Despite being put on the new roster this summer, others are saying now that Hood has still not qualified. Anyone know whether he made his grades this summer or not ? Or is he just waiting on SMU admissions ?

He doesn't have anything on his FB page about SMU and still lists Tyler as where he lives. He also only has two FB friends on the SMU football team.....not a good sign as they all friend each other. He may not have made it in.

That's what I assume, but I have heard the same discouraging reports. Hope they're wrong.

No No No-he signed with SFA out of high school-that's old. As I remember he didn't qualify there either

Ok that makes sense..I was wondering why they didn't have any of his Juco stats.
