The rebuilding process at SMU took far longer than anyone ever anticipated. While the progress was slow at times and the frustrations plentiful, the Mustangs found the right man for the job when they hired Head Coach June Jones. The transformation has been remarkable to watch for all of college football. While another team across town claims the title, in many ways SMU became America's team.


I've heard from multiple people across the country how they are rooting for SMU as the Mustangs come back.

While the Dallas Cowboys will forever be the true America's team... it's always nice for SMU to get some love

Those people need to root for the Stangs from Ford stadium!!!

it's been 3 years...wtf

while i guess i would call losing a bowl game a regression of sorts i would actually call last year a better success than the one before because we got to the conf champ game...we lost, but we reached and important goal that we're going to have to reach over and over again to make it farther up the ladder.

I think they are referring to the time spent rebuilding from the DP. Easy to do when you put handcuffs on yourself.
