Nov. 30, 1935: Thought realignment shook things up now? Members came and went from the Southwest Conference in its beginnings, but SMU and TCU played what's known as the greatest game in the league's history, and it was a key point in SMU's 1935 national championship. Bobby Wilson caught a 45-yard touchdown from Bob Finley on a fake punt to win the game 20-14 and lead famed sports writer Grantland Rice to declare that the nation's best football was played by "Southwestern Elevens."
