TERRANCE WILKERSON: Glad to be back

Postby PonyPride » Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:50 pm

SMU wide receiver Terrance Wilkerson had to show patience while awaiting word on whether he would be able to regain his eligibility for the 2011 season. Now back with his team, Wilkerson visited with PonyFans.com to discuss what it was like to sit out last season, how long he expects to spend getting back in shape and regaining his timing and chemistry with quarterback Kyle Padron, and his expectations for the Ponies' season opener Sept. 4.

Enjoy!

In the time I spent watching the quarterbacks and receivers, Darius Johnson looked good. Again, they were running very basic, simple routes — short crossing routes, etc. — and he caught all of the passes I saw thrown his way.

Physically, he looks different. In his first two seasons, he lacked muscular definition. I'm not saying he didn't work — everyone's body changes at different rates and at different ages — but when he runs in a sleeveless shirt, his arms and shoulders clearly are bigger and stronger. He has said he worked harder this offseason — in the weight room and the classroom — than he has before, and it appears to be true, at least when using the always-scientific eyeball test. :D
