Source: Big 12 has contacted another Texas school about joining up. It's not Frogs as they're headed to Big East. SMU? Houston?

Mike Taylor is a host of of a college show on 760 The Ticket in San Antonio. Also a big-time connected guy. Go read his tweets from last year about all of this stuff. Guy knows what he is talking about.

Sadly I agree its likely Houston.

Gotta be Houston, IMO. They averaged 31,000 last year while not making a bowl, we averaged 23,000 even with a favorable home schedule. B12 already has Texas (for the time being), OU and TT to solidify Dallas market.

One thing to keep in mind: The 'Horns HATE Houston. Big 12 office is right here in Dallas. We have more money, better academics, and a centralized location for every Big 12 team. I wouldn't count us out. Time for Orsini to do something LARGE.

Houston would make the most sense on a geographic and athletic level as a replacement for A&M. SMU would not.

If I am selling SMU, I tell them to look at our attendence average vs. Big 12 schools, not our CUSA history.

MikeTaylor760 Mike Taylor
Source: Texas Tech in talks with Pac 12.

WTF? That makes zero sense and flies in the face of pretty much all conventional wisdom regarding realignment. TT is a terrible institutional fit for the Pac-12 and doesn't bring near the market share that Texas, A&M, or OU would.

Hate Houston the school, or the city? Can't imagine they dislike like them any differently than they do us. Also, UH bball program is vastly superior to ours. I'd be shocked if it wasn't UH. What could Orsini do at this point? Better get some architects drawing up blueprints for a 45,000 seat Ford Stadium...

Also CBS Sports line has thrown Missouri into the SEC rumor mill which if true would move Auburn over to the East division. Then the Big 12 would need another school.
