Aggie friend of mine just called me and read what the publisher of that site reported. It's done.

The Aug. 22 board of regents will meet to ratify it.

"aggie", "friend" and "read" in the same sentence just seems odd.

I just wish he would post a link sometimes. By the way, thank abezontar.

86 -- It's a subscriber story, so the link is pointless unless you have it for aggieyell.

No, at least post the link to the title like abezontar did. That good enough for most. Not trying to cause a conflict with you. Anyway, I'm sure the Houston site just lite up.

Good for A&M, I guess.
But I feel sick at the current moment.
The game of musical chairs just started up and I think we're about to be left without a seat, while UH just might snag the last chair. Ugh.

still not buying it. wouldn't you think the university would have put out a press release if this were true?

It's not 'officially' official until the board of regents meeting on Aug. 22. But checking Twitter, most reporters aren't pushing back on this report from AggieYell.

No, It's not official. It will be official when the board of regents. But I'm just passing along what this publisher put down.

He's breaking a story that he said is going to happen. So the credibility of his site is on the line here.

I would think he wouldn't have put it on there unless he felt good about where this was coming from.

Can someone please be a good Samaritan and warn all of the sheep in the southeast that the Aggies are coming?

the way i read the rivals headline and teaser line is that he is saying that another site (aggieyell.com) is saying it's official. plausible deniability on his part if it's not true in the end.

"hey, i was just saying that this is what another site was reporting."

i'm not saying that it's not true, i'm just saying that i'm not convinced.

i understand it won't be "official" til the board of regents met, but i would have expected something from the university if this were the case.

"A$M has agreed in principle to join the SEC, pending approval by the board of regents..."
