UNT Sells the Naming Rights to Football Stadium/ApogeeUNT stadium naming deal is with Apogee, according to reports...at a average of $1,000,000 a year makes for a nice source for revenue for UNT. Could a deal ever be broached to rename the field, Ford Field as a forever tribute to Ford, and then be able to then go sell the naming rights to the Stadium at SMU? ....just a thought....
Dallas Business Journal - by Lance Murray Date: Friday, August 12, 2011, 6:36am CDT UNT's new stadium reportedly will be named for campus networking firm Apogee. Officials at the University of North Texas will make the official announcement on the naming rights for its new Mean Green Football Stadium today at a news conference, but media reports say the rights have gone to a campus networking firm. Austin-based Apogee signed a 20-year naming-rights partnership agreement that averages around $1 million a year, according to Sports Business Journal. The 30,850-seat Apogee Stadium is scheduled to open Sept. 10 at the Denton campus. Los Angeles-based Premier Partnerships brokered the agreement.
