I heard on College Sports XM Channel 91 this afternoon from host that if SEC takes Florida State, that the ACC might raid the Big East for West Virginia. If true, that will open up another spot in the Big East. These are interesting times. Hang on Mustang fans.

I think someone posted a few days ago that WVU had already been approached by the ACC and that WVU had accepted. It probably would open a slot for UCF to go to the Big East and CUSA may have to fill their open slot with FIU or FAU.

USF is foolish to blackball UCF. The Big East would benefit from this rivalry, just as TCU/SMU would if we were in the same conference. Besides, I don't see ACC taking USF. It does not have the cache. WVA to ACC would be better and the Mountaineers would match up well with VA and VaTech.

I don't disagree but all the old ucf guys in our ad office have told me that USf has been blackballing ucf for years...

WVU has no business being in the ACC. I don't care if academics have diddly to do with athletics, WVU is a four year diploma mill.

My son briefly looked at WV in 1995 at which time WV could brag that they had more total Rhodes Scholars than all of the Ivy League colleges combined. A fact.

Personally knowing a fairly large number of people that went there recently, and having visited it myself, and seeing the kind of grads its putting out, at least in my world, I'm sticking to my guns on my outlandish assertion.

I think he was referring to the UWV Roads Scholar. Then to work with the West Virginia State Highway Department.

Harvard Yale and Princeton (the top 3) have over 700 between them.

University of Virgina is in the top 20.

Sadly, WVU has nearly 5 times as many as SMU.
