do we make the cut in 4 20 team conferences?

This is where I have believed we are heading and what the SEC has been talking about for some time now.

Do we make it into one of them. Don't know.

I agree. 80 teams and we are solid. 64 and it's dicey.

there is no reason for 4 X 20 when 4 X 16 can control all Division 1A action. SMU has very little chance at surviving the 64 cut-off

this guy is quoting his ncaa source. i have seen other people throw around numbers between 16-20. i prefer the 20. some call for 5x16 instead of 4x20.
the sec per espn is evidently trying to get to 16 now with the addition of tamu, mizzou, fsu and clemson.
what many thought would take several years has suddenly taken off like a rocket. conferences will start scrambling like mad if this tamu thing happens.

While 20 is a possible number I think the general consensus is 16 teams in 4 conferences.

While I would love 80 as is gives SMU as better chance of getting a spot at the table, I would think the "big boys" would prefer 64 simply because the money gets divided less.
