Isn't this just legal posturing by the SEC?
We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion.
Which could be if a school we are interested in votes to come to SEC and approaches us first then.....

Aggies believe this all posturing to avoid a lawsuit. Most of them still believe they are headed to the SEC by the end of the week. The language of the press release says a lot.

This would only happen to the aggies. Now they have to accept the fact that they can't live without Texas. Can't wait to start a sec chant at Kyle field.

I realize this may not be over-but hell when you get to watch the Aggies make fools of themselves take full advantage. I think there really is an issue with this 14th team-it could go either way. Florida, South Carolina and Georgia may well form a voting block to keep other instate schools out. Anybody know what SEC vote must be for expansion. Unanimous?

Statement today was pure legal-ese. Too much bad blood and posturing by A&M. They'll be in the SEC by the end of next week.

Great news. That leaves us in the running for an SEC spot in the future.

If Conference USA had any sense of humor, it would give A$M an invite to CUSA.

I am fully in the 'legal posturing' camp on this one.
Seemingly too much smoke for there not to have some kind of action occur.
BUT, if Aggy has been rejected for the time being, it is great news for us.
Time for SMU to continue to improve on and off the field. Strong football and bball seasons along with continued facility improvements (like the large cash haul this summer for Moody) will put us in a better position.

Don't be stupid guys. Totally legal posturing. Even the ESPN and Sports Illustrated tweeters are saying so. This thing has come too far to be derailed now. If anything the tweets bow are suggesting that the SEC is strongly considering going to 16.
