Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesit's a cult thing...and the reason they will always play second fiddle to UT. But, still...their intense loyalty is very impressive
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesA&M is T-Shirt U.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesNo school makes it easier to make fun of them. I'm going to miss having A&M on the schedule...all the softball jokes will disappear.
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesSo, are T-shirt Aggies clowns that put on a white T-shirt under their overalls and call it formal attire?
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesLove to see A$M stand up for themselves and tell Dodds to kiss their rump.
Texas will go independent soon and A$M will be better off after this move. They will have their state identity back. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"

no, that's called the board of regents. Derail the Frogs!
Re: TexAgs are full of themselves
i saw this thread too. they seemed equally divided over this. half don't want to see anything aggie related on you unless you went to school there, half thinks it's great that people support the school. i fall in the latter half in terms of t-shirt fans, as long as you're not of the belligerent type. Derail the Frogs!
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesSEC fans are going to have a field day with the Aggies. I hope they get their butts handed to them week in and week out.

Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesTrading one master (UT) for several in the SEC. Nothing says quitters like A&M. Can't beat 'em, leave 'em.
With that said if I was A&M I'd leave too. If they did leave, if I was a B12 team I'd refuse to schedule them and pressure every other Texas school to do the same. Only home games in the state, travel everywhere else. As for T-Shirt fans. I have several A&M t-shirt fans, the ones that never went to college. Whole families pledging allegiance to A&M although none of them have ever enrolled in a class, not one. Can't wait till we beat them!
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesIf A&M does leave, I doubt they will have a schedule that would permit them to play their former conference mates. I am not sure that A&M even wants to play Texas again--think Nebraska and OU.
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesNo, TAMU definitely wants to play tu every year. There's way too much money involved in that game to let it die.
I generally don't get involved in arguments involving anything that comes out of TexAgs. TexAgs message boards are the Aggie proof of Gabe's Internet Theory (language in link is NSFW). That being said, the t-shirt argument is too much. To start with, tu has an absolute buttload of t-shirt fans (t-shirt t-sips as they are affectionately called)...and they are much more obnoxious than regular t-sips. Its a great school and if you went there I expect that you can and should talk as much smack as humanly possible about how consistently good the program is. There is nothing more irritating that dealing with swagger and smack talk about how good tu is from a person who did not attend the university. You can tell me all about how good "your" team is, as long as you are talking about UNT, SWT, TSU, TWU or whatever school you actually attended. That (admittedly bitter) attitude is why some ags don't welcome in t-shirt fans. They remind us of one of the things we hate the most about tu. There is a sense that Ags are all in this together, us against a world that just doesn't understand, and frankly, the t-shirt fans are just a little late to the fox hole. Should we take all the help we can get? Sure, especially as long as there appears to be no one in the athletic department who is remotely capable of handling the national media. Will we accept the help? Students yell "Two Percenter!!" at other students who leave football games before the final second is off the clock. My guess is there will always be a palpable division between the "Old Army" Ags that went to the school, and the rest. ![]()
Re: TexAgs are full of themselvesim not sure why they want "t-shirt" fans so bad, i mean they have the 4 largest undergraduate program in the country and have been top 10 for a while now...does producing nearly 10k alumni every year not get it done?
