Let's Say we did by some miracle get in the Big12 - how much more revenue would we get compared to CUSA from TV and bowls?

Must win games this year if we want to dream like this:

All of them

As Stallion has correctly stated, if you want to play with the big boys you have to beat them. It's very possible we're getting down to now or never time.

Beat Texas A&M. Badly. Then watch the Big 12 heads turn.

Good to hear we are talking with Big XII officials.
You can't win unless you are playing the game.

Very interesting. I think this is Orsini and JJ looking a few years down the road. They know it is a long shot that we replace A&M at this point but I don't think the Big XII will stay at ten schools, especially if a viable regional school emerges. If we can get a couple of high-profile non-conference wins and a conference championship in next few years, we strengthen our argument. Regardless, I like the fact that we are already selling ourself to the Big XII.

Good pub, but we still have to be legitimate Nationwide...BEAT T & M and TCU and we will be turning heads.

For a little perspective, just think how far we have come in the last couple of years. Had this stuff been going on in 2005-2007 is there any way we are even mentioned in these scenarios? Hell no. If I'm SMU I sell that fact. We were basically not even trying to win for 20 plus years. Now that we have decided we'd rather have a competitive football team than one that goes 3-8 every year, we have gone to a conference title game and back-to-back bowl games. We bring academic legitimacy with us to any conference, we have a 1.2B endowment, a campus tailgate experience as good or better than any in the nation, an improving product on the field, top-notch facilities, and an NFL caliber coaching staff. There are things here that are VERY attractive. And we've only just scratched the surface.

On top of all of that, we are in one of the biggest media markets in the U.S., and one that loves its college football.
